On Friday, 31st of January, at 6 p.m. we opened an exhibition entitled Figures of the Floating World, where we present works by Asana Fujikawa and David Hockney. We would like to thank all our guests for coming!

The first part of the exhibition curated by Dr Matilda Felix, entitled Figures of the Floating World, took place in the Berlin Georg Kolbe Museum. Its title refers to traditional Japanese illustrations of ukiyo-e – images of the flowing world, whose themes are everyday life scenes. Using the language of fairy tales and myths, classic techniques of Asana Fujikawa and David Hockney create works of small formats, which, however, are current and direct. The flowing world is condensed in these paintings in the form of an impartial reflection on what makes us really human.

The exhibition will be open until 30th of April, from Wednesday to Sunday in hours:
Monday, Tuesday | closed
Wednesday | 2 p.m. – 6 p.m. | free entrance
Thursday, Friday | 2 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Saturday, Sundaj | 1 p.m. – 7 p.m.
